Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian artist and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk rock and alternative rock but also has influence from hip beat and jazz. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy recipient Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian roots and her mother was a Montreal native. The song by Ani, 32 Flavors was composed by her and is performed by Ani. The song is featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. The track was included in the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013, following the revelation that it emerged that she had planned a three-day seminar in a Louisiana plantation. It was called off, but many (including the news media) didn't consider it a gesture of regret. DiFranco apologized a couple of days later. Her name is associated with her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many different genres and artists that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. In the span of 14 months, DiFranco had already written her own lyrics. The teens she was in were playing them in pubs and cafes. DiFranco attended Buffalo State College after graduating at 16 from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's custom Alvarez baritone was the result of numerous consultations with Chrys Johnson who was the artist representative for Alvarez. This guitar is made out of solid wood with a cedar top and mahogany sides. Additionally, it comes with it's System 600 Preamp. The couple lives with their two kids at home in New Orleans and Lefty, their dog with long legs who is always in the frame. DiFranco is admitting that, three decades after her debut in music, she still has mixed feelings when looking at her past. Ani DiFranco, a punk/folk musician and songwriter who was only 25 when she debuted her seventh album Not A Pretty Girl and achieved even more success in the world of public opinion through Dilate. The song, a pop rock hit from 1972 (You're a beautiful girl) was composed by the American group Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
