AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
